Silent Night

Silent Night was originally written in German by the Austrian priest Joseph Mohr in 1816.  It was set to music on Christmas Eve 1818.

Silent Night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
'Round yon virgin mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night
Shepherds quake, at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heav'nly hosts sing Alleluia;
Christ the Saviour is born
Christ the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

favorite this year.
I've had the third verse stuck in my head for 4 days now and loving it.

Now if I could only get my head around a baby being my Lord....

SOOOOO Glad to see that you are a fellow blogger...My favorite christmas carol happens to be O Come, O Come Emmanuel...

not only is the music lovely, but the words haunting.
